The Yahoo! Mail experience is best when people follow a few rules. Here are some key guidelines that apply to Yahoo! Mail, in addition to those set forth in the Terms of Service of Yahoo! Southeast Asia Pte. Ltd. (Co. Reg. No. 199700735D) ("Yahoo!"):
Yahoo! considers email transmitted via its service to be the private correspondence between the sender and the recipient. Yahoo! will not monitor, edit, or disclose the contents of your private communications, except that you agree Yahoo! may do so: (a) as required by law; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) if necessary to enforce Yahoo!'s Terms of Service and these Mail Guidelines; (d) to respond to claims that such contents violate the rights of third parties; (e) to protect the rights or property of Yahoo! or others; and (f) to identify or resolve technical problems or respond to complaints about the Service.
You also understand and agree that Yahoo! Mail may include features that automatically identify objects in your email, such as comments or posts on your social networking accounts with third-party service providers, so that you can quickly take actions in response, such as responding to such comments or posts from within Yahoo! Mail itself. The identification of these objects is an automated process, carried out by servers that are designed to detect and highlight specific types of words or phrases or code, but which do not attempt to analyze the meaning of an email. No person reads your email, nor is any personal information collected or stored in this process. Your email is just as private with or without this feature enabled. You may turn this feature off or adjust the types of objects detected at any time by going to the Options-> More Options page.
You further understand and agree the technical processing and transmission of email communications is and may be required (a) to send and receive messages; (b) to conform to the technical requirements of connecting networks; (c) to conform to the limitations of the Service; or (d) to conform to other, similar technical requirements.
Please report any violations of these guidelines or Yahoo!'s Terms of Service to our Customer Care group.
