BOSS. Yahoo! Search BOSS is a paid service that allows you to build and launch web-scale search products. The Services provide you access to Web, image, news, and other search results.
You can qualify to monetize your products and generate revenue by showing search ads from Yahoo! Search Alliance marketplace. Select this option in “BOSS Setup” to go through the qualification process. At that point, you will have the opportunity to review the applicable terms and pricing.
BOSS Price Schedule
Yahoo! charges for the BOSS services based upon the number and type of queries that Yahoo! receives from you via API to BOSS. The price for a query (the “Query Fee”) is measured in terms of BOSS Units. Each BOSS Unit costs $0.10, and the Query Fees are as follows:

Note: You will be charged for actual queries received, based on the above rates. Charges are not rounded to the nearest BOSS Unit, but instead will reflect the number of queries actually received for each query type (see example below). Each query will return a fixed number of results as detailed in the pricing table above. Therefore, if you need 100 results for a search term, for example, you would need to make two queries to the service. Please see the examples below to understand a few use cases.

Billing Generally
You will be billed on a monthly basis, unless you trigger a billing event as outlined below. You receive a credit of 50 BOSS Units at the start of your usage of BOSS. This credit will appear as a refund to your Payment Method account, which you can expect to see reflected on your first or second account statement after the refund is initiated.
Monthly Billing Date. Your monthly billing date is the day of the month you initially sign up for BOSS. The exception is when you sign up for one of these services on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month – in this case, your monthly billing date will be set to the 1st of the month.
Billing Events. The Query Fee will automatically be charged against your Payment Method, as defined below, any time either of the following occurs: (1) immediately, at any point where your usage accumulates 1,000 BOSS Units; or (2) your regular monthly billing date – on which you will be charged for any accrued usage since the last charge.
Billing Statement(s)
You will receive a billing statement at the end of your monthly billing cycle or any time your account is charged. Your billing statement will be emailed to you at the email address associated with your Yahoo! user ID and will show you the Query Fees associated with your usage. If you choose to monetize your products through Yahoo! Search ads, your billing statement will show the net of your revenue and Query Fee. For more details, please see the applicable terms and pricing for search ads.
Payment Method(s)
You can use credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), Paypal, or any other payment method made available by Yahoo! in the future (each, a “Payment Method”) to pay the Query Fee. See the Yahoo! Search BOSS Payment Terms for additional information.
