Yahoo!7 Widget Engine & Widgets
Yahoo!7 Widget Engine and Widgets
The Yahoo!7 Widget Engine is a special program, called a run-time environment, which allows you to run widgets on the Macintosh and Windows operating systems. Widgets are mini-programs which run on the desktop. You do not need to be a registered user of Yahoo!7 to download the Widget Engine or widgets, although some widgets may require login to Yahoo!7 or other sites for certain functionality.
Developers who post their own widgets to the Yahoo!7 Widgets Gallery must register with the Yahoo!7 Widgets site. To post or interact with the Yahoo!7 Widgets Forums, you will need to sign up for a Forum account. Yahoo!7 Widgets Developer and Forum accounts are currently separate from each other. Developer and Forum accounts are currently also separate from Yahoo!7 accounts. These accounts may be combined in the future.
