Security Key

Yahoo! Security Key is a personal access code (like a PIN) designed to protect your most sensitive information displayed on Yahoo!. Certain secure areas of Yahoo! require you to create a Security Key, in addition to your Yahoo! password, in order to gain access. After initial creation of your Security Key, you are prompted to verify your Security Key regularly when you attempt to access a protected area.

  • Verification of your Security Key, as well as the display of your protected sensitive information, is always done over a secure connection.
  • To create a Security Key, we ask you to select a Security Key password, to answer a question only you can answer, and to provide your date of birth and email address. We ask for this information so we can verify your identity if you should ever forget your Security Key password. Without it, your security key would be unrecoverable.
  • Remember- Yahoo! will never ask you for your Security Key via telephone or e-mail. Please treat your security key as you would any other sensitive financial information.

Please see Yahoo! Security Key Help if you have questions about this service.
