In order to post or respond to a profile on Yahoo! Personals, you must be a Yahoo! registered user. Registration is not required if you would like to view personal profiles.
Information Collection and Use Practices Posting a Profile
- To post a profile, in addition to registration information, we ask for your gender, ethnicity, education, and other demographic information. Your postcode is required because it allows us to display your location (city and/or county) in your profile.
- All of the information that you indicate is displayed in your personal profile. This information includes, but is not limited to your city and county, your Yahoo! ID or alias, your age, religion, and other personal information.
- When posting a profile, you are asked to include a description of your interests and what you are looking for in a partner. Please do not include a telephone number, URL, or email address in your description. If you do include such personal information, your profile may not be posted.
- To protect our younger users, we don't allow users who have told us they are under the age of 18 to post a Yahoo! Personals profile.
Responding to an Profile
- When replying to a personal profile, the recipient will be sent a message that includes your Yahoo! ID or alias that you indicate and your email address if you entered it into the optional email field.
- The message that he or she receives from you will also include a "reply" link so he or she can send a message back to your private Personals Mailbox.
Testimonials
- When you provide Yahoo! with a testimonial about your Personals success story, we ask for your name, email address, phone number (optional), and about your experience.
Information Sharing and Disclosure Practices
- By using Yahoo! Personals and its various features, you may choose to make some of your personal information public or you may choose to share some of your personal information with others.
- If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
- By submitting a testimonial you consent to our sharing and publishing your personal information.
Practices Regarding Your Ability to Update or Delete Information
- To edit or delete your personal profile, click on the "My Profile" link near the top of the page. A page will appear showing you all your profiles.
- To make changes to your profile, click the "edit profile" link. To delete your profile, click the "delete profile" link. Your changes will appear immediately.
