Yahoo! Profile

Yahoo! Profile represents who you are and serves as a hub for your identity on Yahoo!. On Yahoo! Profile you can post information about yourself and allow others to learn more about you.

Information Collection and Use

• To create a Profile, you will need to create a display name. This name will be public and can be seen by anyone.
• By default, we suggest you use your first name and last name or last initial as your display name. You may use any display name you like, within reason. You may change your display name at any time.
• If you upload a display image, the display image will also be public.
• You have the ability to post personal information about yourself on your Profile.
• Except for your display name, all of this information is optional.
• You can activate the link between your Yahoo! activity throughout the Yahoo! network.
• Updates
• For the current period, you will be able to manage your Updates on Yahoo! Profile by returning to Yahoo! Pulse. (Yahoo! Updates will continue to appear on other Yahoo! sites and you may continue to view your Updates stream in Yahoo! Messenger for Windows.)

Information Sharing and Disclosure Practices

• The display name and display image you provide for your Profile on Yahoo! is public. If you set your profile to invisible in Privacy Settings people will see your display name and a message stating that you have chosen to hide it.
• Information in your Profile is either public or private. Anyone can view public information. Except for your display name, you can change the permission for any Profile information.
• Information in Yahoo! Pulse that was designated as viewable by “Connections” or “No One” is set to “private” in your Profile. Information in Yahoo! Pulse that was designated as viewable by “Everyone” is set to public in your Profile.

Your Ability to Update or Delete Information

• Edit Your Profile
• You can edit the content of your Profile, and you can set permissions regarding which information is public on your Profile.
• You may hide your Profile. By hiding your Profile, people will not be able to search for you or contact you. Your Profile will not be shown to others and only your display name and display image will be visible for anyone coming to your Profile page.
• Notifications
• Email notifications are sent to you when actions related to your Profile occur.
• You may turn off these email notifications at any time.
• Manage which email address your notifications are sent to.
