Yahoo! Family Accounts

Yahoo! Family Accounts allows a parent or legal guardian to give consent before their child under 13 creates an account with Yahoo!. A child is someone who indicates to us that they are under the age of 13.

Information Collection and Use Practices

  • If your child is under 13, please go to the Yahoo! Registration page and fill out the form with your child's date of birth and other requested information. After clicking the "I Agree" button to submit the registration, you will be prompted to grant permission for your child and link their account to yours.
    • If you do not already have an account on Yahoo!, you will be allowed to create one for yourself. You must have your own Yahoo! Account before you, as a parent, can give consent for your child under 13 to register with Yahoo!.
  • To create a Family Account, we do require you to verify that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child by providing Yahoo! with a valid credit card. Yahoo! will charge you 50 cents to create a Yahoo! ID for your child.
    • Please note that Yahoo! charges this amount to help confirm that a parent or legal guardian is involved and Yahoo! will donate a portion of that charge to charity.

Practices Regarding Your Ability to Update or Delete Information

  • Your child's account is different than your account. You will need to sign in as your child to make changes or delete their account.
