Inquisitor

Inquisitor is a browser plug-in for Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer that enhances your search experience by auto-completing your search query, suggesting alternative queries via Yahoo! Search Suggestions technology and providing instant web results as you type. Inquisitor personalizes the web results for you, and you can add more search engines with customized keyboard shortcuts to create a complete search experience optimized for you. In order to use Inquisitor, you must download and install free software. You do not need to be a registered Yahoo! user in order to use it.

Information Collection and Use Practices

  • Inquisitor automatically checks for updates to the software.
  • Recent History
    • Inquisitor stores a history of your recent web searches
    • This is a function carried out by the Inquisitor plugin on your computer and is not done by Yahoo! servers.
    • You can clear your history in the Inquisitor preferences in your browser.
  • Advertising shown to you by Yahoo! may be related to suggestions provided to you or that you click when Yahoo! is the search engine used by Inquisitor
Practices Regarding Your Ability to Update or Delete Information
  • You can clear your history of searches in the Inquisitor preferences in your browser.
    • Firefox
      • Select Tools from menu
      • Select Add-Ons
      • Select Inquisitor
      • Click Options (also displayed as Preferences)
    • Internet Explorer
      • Start a search in the browser search box
      • The Inquisitor search drop-down will appear
      • At the very bottom of the drop-down select the “Search Options...”
    • Safari
      • Open up the Preferences in Safari
      • Choose the Search tab.
  • You can always uninstall Inquisitor if you no longer wish to use it.
    • Firefox 2 or 3:
      • Select Tools from the top menu of Firefox
      • Select Add-On in drop down
      • Select Inquisitor in the list of Add-Ons
      • Select Uninstall
      • Restart your browser
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or 8:
      • Select Control Panel from the Windows Start menu.
      • Select Add/Remove Programs
      • Select “Inquisitor for Internet Explorer”
      • Select Remove
    • Safari
      • Navigate to your hard drive device
      • Select the Library folder
      • Select InputManager folder
      • Delete the Inquisitor folder
