You may browse profiles and existing content on Yahoo! Kickstart without being signed in to the Yahoo Network, however, you must be signed in to create a Yahoo! Kickstart profile and communicate with your connections.
Information Collection and Use
- You must provide your name, location and the name of the college that you attend(ed) in order to create a Yahoo! Kickstart profile.
- To learn how to edit the information you provided at the time of registration, please see the ‘Your Ability to Update or Delete Information’ section below.
- You have the option to provide additional information about yourself and your background in your profile.
- This optional information includes education and employment history, interests, photos and career goals.
- You may send messages to your Yahoo! Kickstart connections.
- Messages you send will be delivered to your connection’s Yahoo! Kickstart inbox and will not be displayed publicly.
- You may add another Yahoo! Kickstart user as a connection.
- The Yahoo! Kickstart user you are attempting to add will receive a notification that you have requested to add them as a connection.
- If your request is approved, you will receive a notification in your Yahoo! Kickstart inbox indicating that the connection has been added to your connections list.
- If you request is denied, you will not receive a notification and the user will not appear in your connection list.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
- Your profile, and all information contained within it including your connections and the companies you are following, will be publicly viewable and searchable.
- If you post personally identifiable information including contact information on your profile, you may receive unsolicited messages from others.
- All public content of Yahoo! Kickstart, including your profile and all information contained within, is available to be indexed by search engines.
Your Ability to Update or Delete Information
- To update your Yahoo! Kickstart profile or change your profile photo you must follow the instructions on the ‘My Profile’ screen.
- To remove connections you must follow the instructions on the ‘Connections’ screen.
- If you remove a connection both you and your connection will lose the ability to send messages to each other via Yahoo! Kickstart.
