Yahoo! Sports allows you to access sports scores, news, and other sports-related information and resources. To access Yahoo! Sports and Yahoo! Sports Outdoors content you do not need to be a registered Yahoo! user, but to take advantage of certain areas of Yahoo! Sports, like Fantasy Sports, you do need to register.
Information Collection and Use Practices
- Yahoo! Fantasy Sports offers free games that allow you to manage your own team in a variety of different leagues and tournaments (baseball, football, basketball, soccer, golf and more).
- You have the option of joining a private or public league, or creating a private league of your own.
- When registering for a league, you have the option of having your email address visible to others in the league and the option of receiving email notifications of events relating to the fantasy sport in which you are participating.
- If you sign up for a premium package, such as Fantasy Baseball Premium Package or Fantasy Football Premium Package, you are required to set up a Yahoo! Wallet so that we can automatically bill your credit card for the service. You will receive an email from Yahoo! confirming your order.
- We also offer a feedback form that allows you to send us comments and suggestions regarding Yahoo! Sports. This form asks for your name and email address. This information may be used to contact you regarding the feedback that you have provided to us, but will not be used for any marketing or commercial purpose.
Your Friend's Activity
- Yahoo! Activity allows you and your friends to automatically share activity on Yahoo!, including games you play, videos you watch, articles you read, and more.
- When you opt-in to Yahoo! Activity, you will see your friends’ shared activity on Yahoo! Sports and other Yahoo! sites.
- When you opt-in to Yahoo! Activity and turn Social “On”, Yahoo! will automatically share links to your Yahoo! activity to your friends on Facebook and to your Facebook friends on Yahoo!.
- You can turn off automatic sharing by clicking on the “Social” drop-down menu on Yahoo! activity pages. You can also remove individual articles you’ve shared by clicking on the “Your Activity” drop-down menu from the pages where you see the Activity ‘bar’.

Information Sharing and Disclosure Practices
- Occasionally we may offer an opportunity to receive more information from an advertiser or sponsor and will transmit your email address with your consent.
- Certain Yahoo! Fantasy Sports games feature promotions, such as sweepstakes or contests. In addition to any other eligibility requirements contained in the official rules of that promotion, we may require you to enter information such as your name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, and email address. It may also be necessary for us to share personal information in connection with the promotion. Please see the official rules of each promotion for details.
- By using Yahoo! Sports and its various services, you may choose to make some of your personal information public or you may choose to share some of your personal information with others.
- If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
- Comments
- When signed into the Yahoo! Network you may comment on user reviews. When you comment, your profile is linked to that content and your display name and profile photo are visible to other users.
- You must be a logged-in, registered Yahoo! user to post a comment.
- Comments you post will be displayed publicly along with your Yahoo! ID or chosen nickname and profile picture or avatar.
- You may also delete a comment you have posted by selecting the ‘delete’ option next to the comment you wish to remove.
- Your comments are visible to you on the “My Comments” tab next to the commenting streams.
- Email
- You must be a logged-in, registered Yahoo! user to use the Email option.
- You must enter your friends email address(es).
- You have the option of entering a personal message that may include personally identifiable information.
- Your email address will be visible to the recipient.
- Yahoo! does not use the names or email addresses from this service for any marketing purposes.
