Yahoo! Video is a place to discover—and be discovered. It’s a home for your media-hungry mind. Make a name for yourself by creating a personal profile. Be your own media mogul—view, rate, and review videos, then show off your good taste by programming and sharing your own personal playlists.
In order to provide content on the Yahoo! Video you must be signed into the Yahoo! Network.
Information Collection and Use
- When signed into the Yahoo! Network you may provide content and information on Yahoo! Video including videos, comments, contacts, playlists and profile information.
- When providing content you will have the option to provide a name and image that will be displayed publicly with your content or profile.
- Your name and image will link to your Yahoo! Video profile.
- If you send Yahoo! Video content or invitations to others via the ‘share’ or ‘invite’ features, you will be required to provide certain contact information about you and the intended recipient(s).
- Yahoo! does not collect or use the information you provide when using these features for marketing purposes.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
- By default, the content and information you provide on Yahoo! Video will be displayed publicly on Yahoo! Video and may be displayed elsewhere on the Yahoo! Network.
- The nickname, image and location information you provide in your Yahoo! Video profile may be associated with your other content and profiles across the Yahoo! Network.
- When you add a contact on Yahoo! Video, that user will immediately appear on your contact list.
- Contacts you add will be displayed publicly on your Yahoo! Video profile according to the category and display settings you have indicated when you added the contact.
- If you have chosen not to allow a particular contact to be displayed on your contact list, others who view your Yahoo! Video public profile will not see that contact.
- To how to update the category and display settings of your contacts please refer to the ‘Your Ability to Update or Delete Information’ section below.
- When you add a contact, you will appear on that user’s ‘Fans’ list. If that user chooses to add you as a contact you will move from their ‘Fans’ list to their Contacts list.
- You have the option to show your favorites (videos, playlists & networks) to everyone or just you.
- If you choose to show your favorites to just you, no one else, including contacts, will be able to view this information on your Yahoo! Video public profile.
Your Ability to Update or Delete Information
- To edit your Yahoo! Video profile, please visit the edit profile page.
- When signed into the Yahoo! Network you may delete a comment you have posted on Yahoo! Video by selecting the ‘delete’ option next to the comment you wish to remove.
- When signed into the Yahoo! Network you may remove a comment that another user has posted on one of your videos. To do this, return to your video and select the appropriate option next to the comment you wish to remove.
- To edit or delete a video you have uploaded, please visit My Videos and select the appropriate option next to the video you wish to edit or delete.
- To delete a playlist, please visit My Playlists and select the appropriate option.
Contacts
- To remove a contact, visit My Contacts and select the ‘remove’ button next to the contact you would like to remove.
- If you remove a contact who has you on their contact list, you will still remain on that user’s contact list.
- If you remove a contact who does not have you on their contact list, you will be removed as a “fan” from that user’s fan list.
- To edit the category type or display settings of a contact, visit the profile page belonging to the contact you wish to edit and click the ‘change’ link next to their image and select the appropriate option.
