Yahoo! Weather is a free service on Yahoo! that gives you information on current conditions, forecasts, severe weather warnings and more. You do not need to be a Yahoo! registered user in order to access weather information, but registration is required if you want to personalize weather forecasts or other features.
Information Collection and Use Practices
Yahoo! Weather asks for a zip code or city/location name in order to show weather information for a specific city or area. This information is only used in aggregate form. Yahoo! may also identify your location utilizing your IP-address to determine which weather forecast/data should be shown to you. On a mobile device, Yahoo! may access your location, with your permission (at time of download or first use), and use this information to locate where you are in order to serve local weather information, photos and other information to you. Mobile phone identifiers, model information and operating systems may be transmitted and stored for purposes of internal analytics to be used to improve the service or to provide the service with the best possible experience.
If you are a registered user and logged in, weather information for the location(s) you have entered in your Location Manager will be displayed on Yahoo! Weather. The Location Manager is available for logged-in and logged-out users.
